We finally had some time to break out the horses and spend time with the Nash's. But, I have to say that today was one of the coldest days we have had, since we arrived here! I wore gloves, but it was so cold, that I had to pull my fingers inside the hand part to keep my fingers warm. Ouch!
Hope, Charity, DeeDee & Bart
Bart saddled up DeeDee and started taking the girls for rides all over the pasture. The girls really enjoyed it a lot - they wouldn't stop talking. Of course they wanted to ride by themselves. But Bart started with 2 at a time, ad he led them all over.
April & Dan just looked on - they could care less.
Poor Bart got his exercise today.
(We had to tie Tex up because he kept leaving and going under the fence into the neighbors yard).
Jason was so excited for his girls.
As Bart is walking them across the stream, he tells Bart to "hold it right there" while he took pictures. Bart's feet were soaked!
Just look at those smiles! They were sure lovin life! DeeDee loved the fresh stream water.
I think Bart was enjoying himself as well. I know DeeDee was.
Faith finally got her turn. I think she was having fun.
Especially when she got to ride by herself. She is kind of the quiet one (until you get to know her).
DeeDee & Faith
Jason even wanted to get in on the action.
Bart led him around for a little bit so that he could get the feel of it. He probably felt kind of awkward with Bart leading him around like a little kid, but we didn't want to just turn him lose at first.
Looks like a regular ol' cowboy to me. Come to find out, he used to ride bulls, and actually broke his arm doing it.
So Bart just tied the halter rope to make "reins" and then turned Jason lose on his own.
It all came back to him rather quick.
Charity
They all got to ride (except Melody who is still recovering from a broken foot). They got to ride together with their siblings, and of course alone as well. They wanted to go on all night, but it started to get dark .... and did I say that it was COLD!
I will start giving them individual riding lessons with them in a few weeks.
