Finally a day that we could do a riding lesson. Between allergies and my sprained ankle, we haven't been able to do a whole lot of riding. Charity texted me asking if she could ride tonight. So, Bart and I headed up to Melody's to give Charity a riding lesson.
She is learning, but hasn't got down the whole idea of what the reins are for. All she wants to do is go fast, and ride by herself. She also loves to talk and ask questions!
Our lessons for the kids usually last about an hour. Charity is learning a lot, but has a long way to go. She wants us to just turn her lose out in the meadow, but she isn't anywhere near ready yet. It will happen though. When we first got here, she didn't even want to sit on top of the horses. She would only sit on there with one of her sisters. Now she is riding!
Bart did take her out into one of the meadows for a change of scenery. He even ran along side to give her a little bit of a faster ride. He is so patient and kind.
They walked up and down the road a few times while we waited for Obraum to finish mowing the lawn.
Then Bart was able to turn Charity & DeeDee lose in the round pen for awhile. Charity got her wish to ride on her own. Thank goodness DeeDee is so patient and easy going.
Then the hour was over. Time to feed the horses and feed us. So, it's goodbye for another day.
