Memorial Day! The town on Nolensville prepared for Memorial all week long. The weather wasn't looking too promising for us. Rain was in the forecast.
Not the greatest pictures but the streets are lined with flags. It was really cool and kinda homey feelin. And most of all very patriotic.
Not only were there flags in Nolensville, but as we continued driving around, they were all over! I just loved it.
When Memorial Day finally got here, yep - you got it.....RAIN! Bart was so disappointed. We had planned on loading the horses, and taking them out to Percy Warner Park to ride. We checked it out the other day. There are trail rides for horses only! No walking trails for people or quads were allowed. It was pouring, and it continued to pour off and on all day long.
During a break in the rain, we took a few pictures out on our deck and checked in with Bryce back in Vegas.
He was staying busy making pancakes at the Memorial Day Breakfast for the church. His Uncle Bob asked him to help this year since Bart was out of town. So, he got up bright and early. Here he is with our Home Teacher Bro. John Burt.
Then, since the rain wasn't letting up Bart pulled my car out of the garage and pulled his truck as far in as it would fit. We cleaned it all out, vaccumed it, then after he basically washed the whole thing, he put it back in the driveway. Then he pulled my car back in and washed it too.
Then the rest of the day Bart watched TV and I read my book. It was a long boring day today. We were both really disappointed because Bart doesn't get a day off very often. He has been working 6 days a week. Hopefully we will be able to get a chance to ride out somewhere another day.
We are just grateful though that we have family and friends who serve in the armed forces so that we can enjoy our freedoms. Whether it is to go out and ride, or when we have to stay in. Thank you to you ALL!
