Texas or Bust

So now we have crossed Arizona which was really a long boring drive.  Then came New Mexico, which got a bit more interesting, but still deserty (if that is a word).

Now we needed another break. When we first started out, we took every little opportunity to take a break or make a pit stop. After we got across Arizona, we decided to just flat out drive - so that we could get to our final destination faster. We had a lot of miles ahead of us.

So, here we are at another potty break. Everyone out! Bart fills up the truck, Brandon fills up the car, windows down on the horse trailer, dogs on leashes and everyone potty's. I feel like a brand new Mom - happy that everyone potty's so that we can get back on the road. Did I mention that we all go potty during this time too? Ok. Everyone is happy.

Then everyone is put back into their places, and we are off....So, now we have just passed the state line for TEXAS - the largest state in the United States. Yeah baby.

We thought that this was kind of odd. This little water tower was leaning. We thought that it was doing that for some kind of advertisement for something, but it was really tipping! We don't know what happened to make it that way, but we weren't stopping to find out. Onward - ever onward!

And break time! Didn't we just stop? Same routine - different city. Brandon always made sure that the horses had some food to eat and an opportunity to get a drink at each stop. DeeDee learned how to put her head under the panel in the trailer and she got into the hay cubes along the way, and pigged out! Those were supposed to last ALL of the horses for 2 days!  So she was the one always with her head up and out because she wasn't hungry!

Brandon's cute little Texas butt!

Not the best picture, but there is the Texas flag. We will be stopping here tonight to get a good meal and a decent nights sleep.

I know that you have seen those big, huge white windmills that slowly turn in the fields of Texas (or on TV). Well this crane was working on putting up some new ones. The tubes that they were putting up were assembled in different sections, and they were ginormous! Look at the size of the tube compared to that truck!

It was kinda cool to see them up close.

Now on that thar' Semi has 1 - jus' 1 of the "wings" of the propeller on the trailer that is going to go on top of those tubes that they are putting up. I never realized how huge they really were. Anyway, we thought that it was pretty cool to see.

Then, we came across this HUGE cross in the middle of the parking lot. It was for the church that was right close by. We thought this was interesting.

We are almost to Amarillo, Texas - our 1st of 2 stops to rest. This will be our halfway mark. We should be there by nightfall.
