Stuck in the Mud

Every morning, I go to Melody's to let the horses out. This has become my job, so that the guys can get to work on time. It is quite a drive for them in he morning, and traffic sucks!

It has been raining a lot these last few days, and everything is very muddy. The thing with this mud is that it is very sticky. It will suck your boots off of your feet if you step in a big enough hole full. But, then again, standing water makes everything slimy, so you can also slip. You gotta be careful.

I picked up Sky this morning, and we were gonna hang out after feeding.

So, I usually drive to the horse trailer that is parked at the bottom of the hill and park my car . Then I will walk up the hill to where the barn is, and let the horses out into the pastures. Gives me some exercise!

Today, after I let them out, I came back to my car, and tried to turn around. That was stupid on my part. Lo and behold, I backed up to far and got stuck in the mud!

I know it doesn't look like much, but that area became very slimy, and my little car just sat there spinning its tires. Great! Now what?!

I went up to the house to ask Melody if any of her guys were home. They had already left for work as well. Then she said that she would come out and try to help us, but she has a broken foot!
Sky was like - "We have to call the guys to come and get us out." I told her No, that they just got to work, and that they couldn't turn right around and come help us. So, I remembered what Bart had taught me years ago.....ROCK IT!

So, I reached over and turned on the TCS (traction control button), and then I just gunned it forward and back, forward and back, until I was able to get us un-stuck! It worked!

I guess when a girl gets desperate enough, she will make things work.

After Bart got off from work, I told him what had happened. He kinda laughed at me, but Hey, I didn't have to call him now did I?

But, this is the best part. That night, I showed him where I got stuck. When we left in his truck, he backed up - - yep, a little too far - - and YES, he got stuck as well! The only thing that helped him out tho, was that he had 4 wheel drive.

I guess I got the last laugh today!
