The Nash girls meet us most everyday when we come in the afternoon to check on the horses, and put them up for the night.
So, we figured we would let them start learning the ropes as to how to take care of horses. So, we showed them how much to feed them, and Charity took no time in getting right in there to help. Dan is her favorite!
Hope enjoys April, so we let her feed her. They also helped fill the water buckets.
Bart is so very patient - he really amazes me sometimes. Here he is showing the girls how to feed them from their hands - flat hands. Charity was a bit nervous at first, but she got the hang of it.
Hope isn't scared of anything! This girl is "all in" all of the time. She wants to try everything first, and isn't afraid.
I think the girls are really enjoying having the horses at their place. We do have to keep reminding them to stay out of the corrals when we aren't around (for the time being). But the horses will get to know them, and they will get to know the personalities of the horses, and then there will be no stopping the girls from enjoying them completely.
Today Charity wasn't too sure about riding. She didn't want to go anywhere today. She just wanted to sit on Dan. That is ok because in a little time, I know that she will be riding them by herself....and enjoying them 100%.
As for Hope, she wanted to run, but Bart told her not today. But she loved walking around bareback. I think Bart is really enjoying these girls too.
You couldn't get the smile off of Hope's face today. It was awesome! This is what it is all about. (Faith & Parker were busy doing other things tonight).
