Beginning Our Travels - Arizona

The moving truck arrived yesterday. The guy who was supposed to haul our stuff said that the equipment that Bart needed to take to Tennessee was a little too tall. Instead of working with Bart to see how they could adjust the height of the load (letting the air out of the tires or whatever), the guy just left! WHAT?! The guy was a real idiot.

Bart went to get fuel, and actually saw the guy in his truck. Bart jumped up on the side astep of the semi trying to talk to the guy - but he wouldn't even look at Bart - the guy reached over and locked the door. Then he just drove off. Unbelievable!

So, Bart had to get a hold of another outfit to take our stuff. We need to take - The Connex with our personal stuff, along with some equipment, and Sky's car. (They weren't sure that it would make the long trip).

So, the plan is this .... Bart & I along with Valentine will travel in Bart's truck pulling the trailer with the horses. Brandon's dogs, Tex & Diamond will travel in kennels in the sleeper of the horse trailer. Brandon & Sky will follow driving my mustang. We have walkie talkies to communicate between the 2 of us.

After getting up at the butt crack of dawn - 4:00am. We fed the horses first, so they had a little something to eat before we left.

We finished packing Bart's truck with our essentials. Then loaded the horses into the trailer and said our Good Bye to Bryce (he didn't want to get out of bed). And we were off.....

It didn't take long for Bart's phone to start ringing. He was still trying to coordinate our moving truck with everything that we left back in Vegas. With some help from Art Evans, they were able to load everything onto another trailer, and the new driver should be headed out in a few days. That is fine because we don't have a "for sure" place to live yet.

The first state that we had to cross was Arizona. I guess someone didn't get enough sleep last night or was in too much of a hurry this morning because this poor guy lost his load going round a corner to the Love's truck stop in Arizona. What a way to start his day. Didn't look like anyone was hurt, but the poor guy probably had to change his underwear.

So we decided to let the dogs out for a potty break while they cleaned up the mess - it was blocking the 'on ramp' back onto the freeway. This is one of the few times that Valentine has to be on a leash, and believe me, she doesn't like it one bit!

The cleanup was taking awhile so we even opened up the side windows on the horse trailer so that the horses could get some fresh air. We even offered them food and water.

After we finally go back on the road, we came upon this little hill that was in the middle of the divided highway. It looked like it had been split in half. Kinda cool.

Our goal for today is to cross 3 states and get to Texas by the end of today. Arizona is a large state to cross!
