Stake Conference & Callings

I think it's great that we are able to get out of our comfort zone. It has been very hard on me, but I am glad to finally spread my wings. Moving to Tennessee has brought lots of changes, and we have realized that we have taken some things totally for granted. One of those is our Ward & church!

The adult session of Stake Conference was held in the Green Hills Building (4304 Hillboro Pike). Which is about 35 minutes away. The reason I say that we have taken our church for granted is that we have always lived very close to our Ward church building until now. Usually it would only take us about 5 minutes to get to our church. Here, everywhere you go takes a minimum of 20 minutes.

It was a great session. They talked about missionary work, new members, and the allegory of the 1/2 eaten casserole (our wanting to always be perfect).

Then today, we had to go the Franklin Stake Center (1100 Gray Fox) for the rest of the conference. It was held at 9:00am. It took us almost 45 minutes to get there. There again, our Stake Center back home only takes us about 10 minutes to get to...but it was and always is totally worth it.

Our Stake President - Brother Watson challenged us to read the Book of Mormon in it's entirety by the time we have our next Stake Conference in December. (That gives us 6 months!) This should be about 3 pages a day.

Neither one of us has a calling yet. They will be making boundary changes as soon as the new building is completed (end of June), and then hopefully we will get callings!

After we got home, Bart started making his Home Teaching appointments to go and visit. His Home Teaching companion hasn't moved here completely yet, so I get to go with him to visit his families for now. This is great - it's a good opportunity to meet the members. #LifeIsGood
