Bryce's Quick Flight (1st Time)

Last year, around this time, Bart had just started working in Boston. We found out that  his boss' son was getting married in just a few months (actually June 2014), in Reno, NV. So, we thought I should go to represent Bart since he wasn't able to go. However, I really didn't want to go alone, so I asked Bryce if he wanted to be my hot date.  He agreed, and so we purchased plane tickets. We were only going to Reno but Bryce had never flown before, so I thought this would be fun to go with him on his first plane flight.

However, unbeknownst to us, the wedding was called off, but we weren't notified until 3 days before we were to leave! Aargh. Anyway, we got a credit for out tickets. But we had to use them up within the year.  I ended up using mine up pretty quickly when I went to visit Bart in Boston. But, we still had Bryce's credit. (And, it can't be used for anyone else).

Well, time went by rather quickly. We are now living in Tennessee, and Bryce is still in Vegas. And we had to use up this ticket credit before the end of May. We are planning on Bryce coming to visit for the 4th of July, but they wouldn't let us use it toward that because it was too far out.

We had to think of a "Plan B". So, today is the day. We wanted to at least use the ticket so that it didn't go to waste! So, we planned a little trip for Bryce to fly down to Phoenix, AZ for the day. However, he would have to go by himself. The flight was only an hour, and would be an easy flight. We walked him through all of the steps from checking in online and printing his boarding pass to what to expect in the airplane. Bart even told him which side of the plane to sit on so that he could see the Grand Canyon.

The flight went off without a hitch. Bryce hung out there for a couple of hours, had lunch at the airport (he couldn't rent a car - not old enough yet), then jumped back onto another flight and came back. This was all on a Saturday.

I think Bryce was nervous, but he did great, and enjoyed it.

All in all, 1. Bryce enjoyed his first flight. 2. It was simple. 3. We got to use our ticket credit. Bryce is now ready to come and visit us in a few months. Can't wait to see him soon!

Oh, and while this was all taking place, Sky had already headed home a week earlier (she will be visiting Vegas for a few weeks) for her Mom's graduation from nursing school, and her best friend bridal BBQ. Bryce made it back in time to join in the festivities!

That's what it's all about - #MakingMemories.
