Brother Lance Olivas is our Home Teacher. And, I just have to say that he is awesome! He and his family are always bringing us homemade cookies. As a matter of fact, they brought over some homemade chocolate chip cookies one night, that were to die for! - So much so, that Bart even asked her for her recipe. She gladly gave it to us. Bart immediately made 6 dozen cookies, and we ate them all! (Well, we did take some of them to Bart's Home Teaching families) but the majority we devoured!
Anyway, he has only been to our house 2 times to actually visit. So, a few nights ago when he was here (with yet another batch of 'smore cookies), he noticed that we had Valentine. He said, "Hey we are going on vacation for a few days. Would you mind watching our little dog while we are gone?" Of course we told him that we would.
So, Bart & I went over to their home the night before they were leaving to meet "Livvie". She is a Maltese. They gave us a key to their house right then. Wow! We just met them and they are giving us a key to their house?! Nuts! (Good thing we are honest people).
So, when we first got there, she barked at us. I sat on the couch, and soon she was staying right by me and letting me pet her. But, she kept barking at Bart!
The next morning I went over to let her out to go potty. She barked at me at first, and wouldn't really let me play with her. So, I went back at noon to let her out again, and she was so happy to see me, and wanted to play! So, we played for awhile, and then I came back in the evening, and we played again.
The next day she was more than glad to see me. Bart went with me to check on her that night, and she wouldn't quit barking at him. I even went outside, and sat down on the grass - Bart sat on the steps to the porch, and she wouldn't go near him. She stayed right by me - laying in between my legs at one point. She was protective of me already! It was so cute!
Then when the Olivas family came home, I went over to return the key, and Livvie came running out to see me. She was adorable! The family even thought it was cute. It was nice to have someone excited to be with me.
