The Grand Ol' Opry

Our Anniversary celebration day is finally upon us! Tonight is the night! We are goin to the Grand Ol' Opry to see.....Carrie Underwood! Woo Hoo!!! She is my fav!

I guess The Grand Ol' Opry has been around for 90 years! From the outside, it didn't look like a very large venue.

There were a kagillion bazillion people here tonight! And the line went on foooorrreeevvver!  There was one show that started at 7:00pm, and then the one that we chose started at 9:30pm. We got way better seats for this time. Our seats were actually on 8 rows back from the stage! Sky was also celebrating her birthday this month, so they got tickets too.

My allergies raised their ugly head this week, but I was finally able to get them under control by tonight. However, Brandon got pretty sick tonight, and didn't feel at all like going out. So I told Sky what kind of medicine to get Brandon. He took it, and then went straight to bed, So, Bryce lucked out and was able to go with us. Brandon let Bryce wear all of his western clothes tonight. I think they fit pretty good! I think the boots were actually too small, but it worked for tonight,

Here is our line up for tonight's show! Some of these people we had never heard of before, but we enjoyed ALL of them! There were even some square dancers which brought back high school memories.

This is my favorite picture tonight of US. Bart photo bombed us. I'm still having issues with my hair. I curled it and the humidity just kills it every time.

Me & Bart - Grand Ol Opry Nashville, Tennessee 2015

We got there really early and saw how long the line was, so we decided to take some fun pictures while we were waiting. We had assigned seating, so it didn't really matter when we got in there. They had a large electric guitar too, but we wanted the western one.

They didn't even open the doors until 9:20pm. So, it was a little crazy trying to get all these people inside in time for the show. It didn't really matter where you were in line, people just started merging in.

It was casual dress. People were wearing all kinds of different clothes, from shorts to formal. The seating was different. They were all pew seats that were numbered instead of individual seats. It was cozy, but comfortable.

I thought Bart was only taking a picture of the 2 of us (otherwise I would have sat back a little farther).

And, they started right at 9:30pm! People were still scrambling to find their seats, but the first group started performing right away. I guess the Grand Ol Opry is an actual LIVE Radio Broadcast - 650 WSM, and it was recording LIVE while we were there. There was a DJ that broke everything up, and even did commercials. That part was kind of annoying, but we needed to realize that this "concert" was very laid back, and wasn't an actual concert.

Then, out she came! Carrie Underwood! And, she was worth the wait. She was beautiful, awesome, and all legs!

She sang "Little Toy Guns" which is one of my very favorite. She has such a strong voice, and she was sure belting out the song. Almost to the point where you couldn't hear her. People from all over were swarming the stage to take pictures of her. The Opry handled it really well. They allowed them to come up to the stage, but they HAD to kneel down so they weren't blocking everyone else. Once the song was over, they made them go back to their seats, they couldn't just hang out there.

The only thing is - is that she only sang 3 songs TOTAL! What?! I was a bit disappointed in that, but I needed to realize that it wasn't HER concert. I will take what I got!

Ricky Skaggs was another of the singers/group that we enjoyed. He sang a lot of songs that Bart and I recognized

This is an up and coming singer by the name of Logan Brill. I loved her voice, but I didn't care for the song that she sang tonight. But, I did love her dress!

The group Exile was the last performer. We really liked his group. He was a cutie with a little lisp, but you couldn't tell when he sang.

It lasted 2 whole hours. It was fun, and I would recommend it if you are visiting. Sky was the one who let us know that Carrie Underwood was singing. She only performed 4 nights, and we had to pounce on the tickets in order to get good seats. It was totally worth it staying up tonight.
