Mowin' the Meadow

Since April had "Dew Poisoning", we haven't been able to turn the horses out into the large meadow because it has grown too long. So, today Bart decided to hook up Jason's heavy duty mower to the truck and give it a good cut. We had to take it slow and easy cuz there was so much! I was so glad that we were in the truck cuz it sure brought out the bugs!

There were very large crickets that were popping up all over. This huge one hopped up and stayed on the warm hood of the truck the entire time that we were mowing. It was fun to watch him from the inside of the truck in the A/C and listening to my music.

It was a slow but steady job, but it was fun, and it really did go pretty fast.

Look at this HUGE spider! Bart saw it, and got out to take a picture. He said that it was like a very large vinagaroon but with no butt! Yikes!!

Even the grasshoppers were colorful. This guy was green, yellow and had stripes on it. I bet they would make great fishing lures! (Or if you were starving, you could make a meal out of them).

You can tell which has been mowed and how much we have to go. It was something to do; it helped Jason out, and Bart loved every minute of it! Usually Jason hooks it up to the back of his Wolverine and mows. We do need to run over it once more to mulch up the grass some, so that we can turn the horses back out.
